Cruiseco Adventurer – Vietnam & Cambodia
After an overnight flight with Singapore airlines and arriving in Saigon at 10am I was met by a member of the Cruiseco team who transferred us to the beautiful Caravelle Hotel in the city for a day at leisure. Firstly the hotel is in an excellent location with only a 10 minute walk to the famous Ben Than markets, with plenty of shops and other markets along the road, the opera house is directly opposite with the Cathedral and old post office just a 15 minute walk in a different direction. The hotel offer deluxe rooms included in the package with Cruiseco, these rooms are tastefully decorated to match the style of the hotel and are very spacious, and they offer views of the city or of the river!
Cai Be
The first town we come across in Vietnam along the Mekong… We departed the ship and took a junk trip around where we saw floating markets! We went ashore to see how to make coconut toffee & pop rice, as well as taste some fermented snake wine… definitely a treat!!
Tan Chau
Small town we toured by Rickshaw. Amazing experience to see how the locals live, work & shop.
Phnom Penh
An Exclusive experience travelling on the Cruiseco Adventurer means having lunch at one of the most beautiful hotels in the city… The Raffles! Absolutely incredible! Every bit of the food was just Dee-Lish!!
A guided tour of the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda… Photos speak for themselves, quite remarkable!
Cruiseco Adventurer
For a ship that takes a maximum of 60 people it really does give you that sense of space, the way it has been designed is surprisingly different in a much better way than other ships along the Mekong… The entrance onto the ship is level 2 where the reception is and the Mekong Restaurant, this is a much better position that level 3 where most other ships have the restaurant simply because on level 3 on the adventurer is where the lounge and bar area is. This provides the best light possible being at the top of the ship in line with the outdoor area which is extremely spacious, plenty of sun beds and tables with chair and a surprisingly decent sized pool. Not a swimming pool but a Jacuzzi style pool. Another good point to note about the ship is that no cabins are over the engine, this is staff quarters only… many other ships use this for extra cabins but they will be noisy. Other ships on the river are of similar size and hold almost double the amount of passengers which really did surprise as I would imagine you would feel quite squashed.
Final Days in Siem Reap
Another EXCLUSIVE with Cruiseco is that this is the only company that offer this package to stay at the Raffles hotel in Siem Reap… So beautiful! The final tours included were to the many, many temples, to many for me to show so I will leave this report with a couple more photos and a picture of the pool at the Raffles.
